TRAINING WITH ZEKT

Import your workout history into Zekt

Changing your workout tracker should not mean ignoring the work you already recorded. Zekt can read the workout export file from other supported apps and lets you review the import before adding records to your local history.

Zekt for iPhone · 18+ · English & Spanish

On the App Store from October 12. This guide describes the launch version.

Start with a workout export

Export your workout history from the app you used before and keep the original file. In Zekt, open Settings → Data → Import workout history and select the file.

This is a file import, not a connection to your account in another app. You do not need to give Zekt the password for any other service. An arbitrary spreadsheet, body-measurement export or edited file may not be compatible.

Review before adding records

Exercise names and units can differ between apps. The preview gives you a chance to inspect the imported history and resolve the decisions it requests. Do not guess a unit or map two exercises together just because their names look similar.

  1. Keep a manual export of your existing Zekt data before making substantial changes.
  2. Select the workout export file from the other app.
  3. Review the proposed records, exercise matches, units and warnings.
  4. Resolve required decisions and confirm only when the preview matches your intent.

What happens if I import the same file twice?

Zekt skips exact repeat records it recognizes. Workouts with different source evidence can remain separate, even if they look similar. This is not a promise to detect every possible duplicate in an edited or re-exported file.

Use recent imports to inspect a recorded batch. Keep the original export available if a result needs investigating.

Importing history is different from restoring a backup

A supported workout export brings training history from another app. A Zekt backup is a separate format for restoring the supported local records.

Restoring a Zekt backup replaces the local records covered by that format; it does not merge two histories or reproduce every device setting. Check which operation you are choosing before confirming.

What if the file is not supported?

If Zekt cannot validate the export, it reports the issue instead of importing it as a supported workout file. Try a fresh workout export from the source app and review the file type.

For help, contact zekt.app@gmail.com with the source app, Zekt version and a short description. Start without attaching your full export: it may contain training notes or personal information.
